ST. CECILIA

SCHOOLHOUSE

In 1903, the St. Cecilia parochial school opened its doors in the copper smelting town of Hubbell, serving many hundreds of primary schoolchildren for nearly seven decades when it closed -- along with the area’s mineral operations -- in 1969. Today, St. Cecilia Schoolhouse is privately owned, and is quietly being researched and restored by its present owners, an artist and an architect.
